Here you find answers to most of the questions you might have when using our services or products
At this time, our system doesn't allow the direct saving of configurations. However, when you exit the configuration interface without adding a product to your cart, your entered values will be stored in your browser's cache. This ensures that you won't have to re-enter these values when you initiate the configuration process again.
We prioritize showing the dimensional aspects over the material composition of our products. The intent is to manage expectations as real-life material can vary, especially when sourcing locally or sustainably. We encourage flexibility, knowing that the individual components of a product may change over time due to wear or replacement.
Our site exclusively offers digital files for 3D printing, digital construction manuals, and annual subscriptions for these files and manuals. We provide assistance to users in facilitating the production of printed parts and guide them to both online and offline sourcing options for regular parts.
By registering as a free member with 1x1, you gain access to our community. This includes our interactive map for locating other members, makers, and makerspaces. You'll also receive an invite to our Discord server, where you can interact with other members, trade parts, and gain valuable insights and tips. Additionally, your profile page will allow you to access your past purchases and other features.
Our website primarily deals with digital files for 3D printing, not physical products. However, under special circumstances, we may handle requests for fully assembled products, given that we can ship to your location. If you're interested in receiving a ready-made product, please send an email to sales@1x1.systems. Be sure to tell us which product you want, how you want it configured, and where you live.
We welcome the opportunity to design, build, and deliver our products for compelling commercial interior projects. If you believe our products align with your concept, or if you require 3D files for your planning process, kindly reach out to us at sales@1x1.systems.
Our product licenses are currently limited to non-commercial use. However, if you're interested in commercially producing and selling our products, please contact us at sales@1x1.systems.
The measurements and customization options for each product are determined by their structural and functional design constraints. For example, a side table's dimensions will never align with those of a dining table. To determine the minimum and maximum values of a product element, use the sliders within the configurator.
Beginning with 3D printing can be challenging. We're in the process of creating a beginner's guide to 3D printing, but in the meantime, we suggest »Basics of 3D printing with Josef Prusa« for understanding the technology, and our Buying Guide for product recommendations.
3D printer manufacturers typically provide slicers specifically designed for their printers or recommend compatible slicers for optimal performance. Information on the recommended slicer can be found in the printer's manual or on the company's website. Be sure to check these sources for guidance on selecting the most suitable slicer for your printer model.
If you don't have a printer and have no plans to buy one, we suggest using our community section to facilitate your part's production or our marketplace to purchase the part from another user.
Occasionally, 3D printed parts may differ slightly from the original design due to variations in the printing process. If your parts do not fit as expected, we recommend sanding the contact areas inside the part. If this does not resolve the issue, please reach out to us at support@1x1.systems for further assistance.
Many failures in 3D printing result from improper calibration of the printer or the print bed. We recommend referring to your device's manual to check if this is the issue. Another common cause is incorrect slicing. Therefore, it's best to use the slicer software and settings recommended by your 3D printer's manufacturer. These settings should be tailored to the specific material, size, and complexity of your part.
Within fourteen days of your purchase, you may return your order without any explanation by emailing us at returns@1x1.systems. Please note, however, that orders for files and manuals created through our configurator cannot be returned as they are custom items tailored specifically to your needs.
Typically, a download link for your receipt can be found at the bottom of your order confirmation email. If you're unable to locate it or need a duplicate, please contact us at support@1x1.systems with your order number and purchase date, and we'll happily provide a copy.
If you encounter difficulties opening or using the files or receive corrupted files, please let us know at support@1x1.systems, and we'll assist you.
If your order was cancelled, it's likely due to an issue with your payment provider or internet connection. We recommend checking both before attempting to make a purchase again. If the problem persists, don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@1x1.systems.
Currently, we aren't accepting design submissions due to the large number of products in development. As we aim to maintain a carefully curated product range, we generally approach selected designers with specific briefs, rather than sourcing ideas from the crowd.
We're always on the lookout for passionate individuals who share our vision. To apply, send your application to mail@1x1.systems, including a single PDF with a cover letter, your CV, and portfolio (the file size should be less than 10 mb). Due to the volume of applications, we may not be able to respond to each one individually.
We provide internships for 3rd-year bachelor/master students and recent graduates in product and industrial design. Internships last 3-6 months. To apply, send your application to mail@1x1.systems, attaching a single PDF with your cover letter, CV, and portfolio (the file should be less than 10mb). Please note that due to the high volume of applications, we can't respond to every email.
We occasionally conduct workshops as part of our educational initiatives. These workshops are usually organized by schools, companies, or institutions. If you're interested, we recommend requesting a workshop through the entity closest to you and most relevant to our concept. Typically, workshops span 2-14 days and need to be planned at least one month in advance.
We are open to collaborations with brands that align with our concept. If you represent a brand and believe we could develop a project together, especially in areas like DIY, customization, circular production, or 3D printing, please contact us at mail@1x1.systems.
If you have any questions that have not been answered on this page, we encourage you to contact us directly via email.
